Scallion Chicken Sauté

Wanted to try a new and healthy chicken recipe asian inspired. I would pair this with cauliflower rice, brown rice or quinoa. It is very healthy and really yummy. This chicken saute is paired with onions, scallions & cabbage which is usually not my go to, but I’m glad I gave this a shot. It’s really juicy and tastes incredible, keep reading to see how you can make this at home too.

  • 1 chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • sesame oil
  • sesame seeds
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • 1.5 tsp chili powder
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1/2 cup scallions
  • 1/4-1/2 cup cabbage
  • 1/2-1/3 cup onion
  • 2 colves garlic
  • 1 tsp ginger
  1. Time to marinate our chicken: cut your chicken into cubes and place in a large mixing bowl. Add you soy sauce, minced ginger, minced garlic, salt, pepper, sesame seeds (optional and as much as you want), chili powder, green chili and brown sugar. Leave this for at least 30 mins (I left mine overnight).
  2. Grab a deep pan and add sesame oil to the bottom of the pan. When the pan is hot, add the scallions (leave the green part out for garnishing in the end), finely chopped cabbage and finely chopped onion. Add salt and pepper and cook on high, keep mixing it around so nothing burns.
  3. Add 3 tbsp of soy sauce to the pan and vinegar. Keep sautéing until it is lightly browned. Add the chicken and remaining liquid in the bowl. Keep heat on medium.
  4. After the chicken is well incorporated and fully cooked, you can add this to your rice (brown or white) or cauliflower rice. Garnish with green onions and cilantro. There you have it, enjoy!

Honestly this tastes just fine without any sides too, but I hope you will give this recipe a try, check out more posts and don’t forget to comment and or subscribe if you have not already!
